What did you understand the purpose of the learning contract to be?
I thought the purpose of the learning contract was to develop our Spanish speaking and literary skills and learn about the culture of Spanish countries.
What did you like about the learning contract? (Specific)
I enjoyed the variety of topics that you let us choose from. I also liked how you could come up with your own ideas and receive points for them. I liked how we did speaking, culture and reading.
What did you not like about the learning contract? (Specific)
I would lower the amount of points needed to receive a 100 on the project. I think 50 points would be enough work and the quality of the work would improve. Some of the point values, I thought, were either too high or too low. The Kids Book activity had a value of 1 point/book. I would change this to 3 points/book.
What would you change to make the learning contract better?
Again, I would suggest lower the maximum point value to 50 and adjusting the point value on certain activities to give the amount of credit that each activity deserves.
Would you suggest that teachers in other content areas use a learning contract? Which subjects?
I would suggest using this project only in language classes, i.e. Latin, French, German and Spanish. The learning contract is only good for these classes because there is a large variety of topics covered. Subjects like English should not use one because there is only two or three topics discussed in class.
